Moments on Pelee

The colors today
swift and hay drifting
bluest and whitest of
waves
buzzing
and Orioles
earth
smelling and the
turning over of
it
into rows
into
sifted
thoughts
alone
along the grass
meadows
beachglass and
old bottles in the forest
abandoned Labatts Blue and
old 1970's
couches
sprung
in empty houses
where the kids go
I presume
to get loaded
near the airport
cold winter
mornings
having just flown in
Cessna
over ice floes
and bad coffee ready for you
Parkas
and whiteness
everywhere
the eye hits.
